My name is Pratima Mehta. I'm originally from India, and I received my primary teaching certification, bachelor's degree (M.D. Avasare Gold Medal), and master's degrees in Indian and English literature from Gujarat University, India.
I also hold a master's degree in education with honors, which I pursued and completed at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). During my time at the university, I was bestowed with an "Outstanding Graduate Student Award" in curriculum and instruction focused on educational technology. Currently, I'm pursuing a Ph.D. in education, where my research is aimed at early elementary STEM education.
I have a diverse range of role experience, having worked as an educator in three different countries: India, Japan, and Australia. Additionally, I hold certification in IT Training for School Teachers and Staff, organized by the Japanese Government in Okinawa. In my past roles, I have served as a curriculum and instruction designer and a Reggio philosophy-inspired curriculum, instruction, assessment designer, and mentor.
Presently, I work as a research associate in the Teacher Education Department at the College of Education, UTEP. I also serve as a Reggio Emilia Inspired Early Childhood Center Kindergarten teacher, where I'm responsible for shaping the young minds of our future generation. I'm deeply passionate about my work and aspire to conduct meaningful research in early childhood STEM education. I strongly believe that instilling the joy of learning, creativity, and discovery in our young ones can create a more prosperous, harmonious society for all.
