The fast changes in the digital world of education: The urgency of a critical examination
Abstract:
There would be a consensus that technology is disconnected from values and interests, in apparent neutrality that disregards its inherently political nature. The hegemonic discourse of education has followed this normative, basically focusing on the benefits provided by the use of digital "tools" in the pedagogical and management activities of education. In this seminar, two studies that confirm this issue will be presented, one of them from articles that reference Paulo Freire, a founder of critical pedagogy. Hence, this presentation points to the need of studies and practices that critically examines digital technologies in education.
