Miner Welcome is back! Kick off the fall semester at dozens of exciting events, including the Texas Western Gold Rush, the UTEP Football home opener vs. North Texas, and Minerpalooza! Activities start this week and kick into full gear on Monday, Aug. 22, as the fall semester starts.

UTEP-UGA Study Looks into Risks Associated with Bounce Houses

A new study co-authored by Thomas E. Gill, Ph.D., professor of environmental science, examines the risks of weather events on bounce houses. The study, which was recently published in the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society, found more than 130 bounce house accidents due to weather events since 2000.

COURI Summer Symposium Showcases UTEP Undergraduate Research

UTEP’s Campus Office of Undergraduate Research Initiatives (COURI) Summer Symposium gave undergraduate researchers, scholars and artists the chance to present their work in the Undergraduate Learning Center this month. Students gained valuable research experience under the guidance of faculty mentors.
