In the News: Under Secretary of Army Visits UTEP, Announces Army Internships for Students

Under Secretary of the U.S. Army Gabe Camarillo, an El Paso native, visited UTEP this week to announce an expansion of internships for students. "The Army will fund 50 new student interns and 20 supporting faculty," Camarillo said.

School Named for Professor Josefina Tinajero Celebrates Ribbon Cutting

The El Paso Independent School District celebrated a ribbon cutting for a new school named after professor of bilingual education Josefina Tinajero, Ph.D., on Aug. 19. The school consolidates Henderson Middle School and Clardy Elementary School, both of which Tinajero attended. She is also being celebrated as a distinguished alumna by her alma mater, Texas A&M-Kingsville.
