More first-time-in-college students started classes Aug. 22 than ever before at UTEP. The approximately 3,600 first-time-in-college students, or freshmen, represent a 22% increase over Fall 2021 enrollment in the same group.

Solastalgia Gallery Talk with Artist Sam Reveles

Join artist Sam Reveles and curator Laura August for a talk about his exhibit "Solastalgia" in the Rubin Gallery. The El Paso-born artist uses densely layered strips of color and delicately networked lines to explore human perception about the natural world.

Students interested in working on campus can meet with departments looking to fill hourly or work-study positions at the Work @ UTEP job fair 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 31-Sept. 1 in Leech Grove.

Employer-Led Professional Development Institute Registration Now Open

The Employer-led Professional Development Institute is a paid, virtual 8-week program designed for students who are interested in sharpening their professional skills. Attend virtual sessions hosted by employer partners and complete bonus activities with the Career Center to earn up to $400.

Contribute Your Artistic Talent to Chalk the Plaza

Students can show their UTEP spirit and pride through artistic creativity at the Union Plaza from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30. Enjoy music and food while getting to know fellow Miners.
