$5M Grant to Fund Nuclear Security Research

The U.S. Department of Energy awarded a five-year, $5 million grant to UTEP’s Aerospace Center to study nuclear materials technology. The research will be done in collaboration with national partners.

UTEP Study Shows High Winds Lead to Health Issues

KFOX-TV: A UTEP faculty member who co-authored a study on El Paso dust storms showed that the winds often lead to increased hospitalizations among people with chronic respiratory diseases and cardiovascular disease.

Grants May Help Expand Healthcare Access in Rural West Texas

Thanks to $3 million in grants, UTEP students will get hands-on experience in West Texas health care facilities, where they could work after graduation as mental or behavioral health professionals.
