$1.7 Million Gift from Hector and Gloria López Foundation to Benefit 15 López Scholars

The Hector and Gloria López Foundation announced its first grant — a $1.7 million gift to provide 15 Hispanic, first-generation college students with full scholarships to UTEP. López Scholars also will receive support for mentoring, tutoring, paid internships, leadership development and more, for up to five years.

The Smithsonian Institution’s National Portrait Gallery acquired a portrait of President Emerita Diana Natalicio by Gaspar Enriquez (B.A. ’70). The renowned artist, who received UTEP’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2015, now has four portraits in the prestigious collection.

Temporary Changes to Cross Parking in Effect Through Aug. 15

The Office of Parking and Transportation Services implemented a special cross parking plan beginning July 8 through Aug. 15, 2022, for all current and valid parking permit holders. During this time, parking rules and regulations will continue to be enforced.
