UTEP Joins Alliance of Hispanic Serving Research Universities, With President Wilson at the Helm

UTEP Athletics Announces 915 Campaign

The alliance of 20 universities aims to increase opportunities for Hispanics. All institutions are both categorized as R1 (very high research activity) by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education and designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution by the U.S. Department of Education.

UTEP Civil Engineering Alumnus Named State’s Young Engineer of the Year

Daniel Carrera, a 2021 graduate of The University of Texas at El Paso’s Civil Engineering master’s program, was named the 2022 Texas Young Engineer of the Year by the Texas Society of Professional Engineers in recognition of his technical ability, professional achievements and civic and humanitarian efforts.

Recreational Sports Department Summer Trip: Carlsbad Caverns

The Recreational Sports Department is organizing a trip to Carlsbad Caverns National Park on June 18. Registration deadline is 5 p.m. June 14. It is open to all students, faculty and staff. Registration must be completed in-person at the Student Recreation Center service desk.

College of Engineering Camp Teaches Engineering Principles to K-12 Students

It’s not too late to sign up your K-12 student for the College of Engineering’s ExciTES Summer Institute. The activities will encourage rising third through 11th graders from the El Paso/Ciudad Juárez region to use their knowledge, imagination, and creativity to become aware of the diverse fields and careers of engineering.
