UTEP Celebrates Spring Commencement This Weekend

UTEP will celebrate more than 3,100 spring and summer graduation candidates in four ceremonies at the Don Haskins Center May 14 and 15: 1 p.m. Saturday – Health Sciences, Nursing and Pharmacy; 6 p.m. Saturday – Engineering and Science; 1 p.m. Sunday – Liberal Arts; 6 p.m. Sunday – Business Administration and Education.

UTEP Student Earns National Dissertation Fellowship

Ligia Arguilez, an El Paso native and borderlands history doctoral candidate, recently earned the Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Competition Fellowship, one of the country’s most competitive fellowships. Her research looks at the historical significance of the creosote bush.

UTEP Undergraduate Researchers Shine at COURI Spring Symposium

Undergraduate students across all disciplines presented their research findings at the Spring COURI Symposium in the Undergraduate Learning Center. COURI, or the Campus Office of Undergraduate Research Initiatives, plays a key role in UTEP's mission to provide undergraduate opportunities for research, scholarly and creative activities.

Toda Esta Distancia

June Sadowski Kruszewski Studio Theatre (Fox Fine Arts Center, First Floor)

Students in the Bilingual MFA in Creative Writing program will perform a bilingual staged reading of " Toda Esta Distancia / All This Distance", a collection of stories about the pandemic that share intimate experiences in the students’ distinct voices, different ways of living and different countries.
