UTEP Appoints Ahmad Itani as New VP for Research

Job Expo

After a national search, UTEP has appointed Ahmad M. Itani, Ph.D., as Vice President for Research starting May 1, 2023. As the leader of the Office of Research and Sponsored Projects, Itani will work to advance collaborative research partnerships and enhance the strong culture of institutional support for scholarly and creative activities.

Save the Date for Black History Month Art Gallery Reception

Check out the Union Gallery’s Black Joy Art exhibit, which will feature works that celebrate Black History Month from UTEP students and El Paso community members. The opening reception is 6 p.m. Feb. 6, and the exhibit runs through Feb. 24.

New Health Center to Focus on Fitness Needs of Older Adults

The Center for Health and Human Performance is a new UTEP-based exercise program open to all adults that aims to improve overall health, functional ability, athletic performance and activities of daily living.

Law School Preparation Institute Now Accepting Applications

The LSPI College Summer Program helps prospective law students develop critical thinking skills and study habits and guides students through the law school application process. Applications for the program are due Feb. 16 for an early decision or at noon March 30 for regular decision.
