UTEP Receives $1.25M Grant from DOE to Produce Pipeline of Scientists and Engineers

Job Expo

UTEP has received a $1.25 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to create a pipeline of scientists and engineers from underrepresented groups with advanced degrees in modeling and simulation. The project is led by an interdisciplinary team of researchers from UTEP’s Advanced Modeling and Simulation Labs group.

Get to Know Heather Wilson and Jay Hone at 'I Love El Paso'

UTEP, the Tom Lea Institute and Progress 321 will co-host “I Love El Paso” at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 9 featuring President Heather Wilson and her husband, Jay Hone. “I Love El Paso” is an annual event held around Valentine’s Day that features El Paso couples discussing their personal and professional lives. It is free and open to the public.

Visit New Black History Month Exhibit at Opening Reception

To mark Black History Month, the Union Gallery is hosting an exhibit themed “Resistance Through Black Joy” running Feb. 7-24. Join an opening reception at 6 p.m. Feb. 6 in the Union Gallery, on the second floor of Union Building East.

ORSP Launches New Visualization and Interactive Collaboration Competition

The Office of Research and Sponsored Projects invites UTEP students and faculty to participate in the first annual Visualization and Interactive Collaboration (VizInC) Competition. This student-focused competition allows students and their faculty coaches to demonstrate creative ways to use visualization to present complex problems.

QPR Gatekeeper Suicide Prevention Training Sessions Running Through February

Join Counseling and Psychological Services for the QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Gatekeeper suicide prevention training, which is designed to teach faculty, staff and students to recognize someone who is at risk for suicide, intervene, and refer that person to the appropriate resources.

ADA Advisory Committee to Meet with Campus Community
