How Is Amit Engaging Students in the Classroom?
Amit has a passion for connecting theories to real-world applications. He encourages his students to bring in real challenges they/their organization face and explore how they can approach the issues through the lens of verification and validation.
Amit is the regional director for the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC), and he bridges the gap between classroom learning and industry practice. Through his connection, Amit’s students participate in real-world projects that reinforce classroom concepts and immerse them in the practical challenges faced by local manufacturers. This hands-on approach ensures that the student sees the relevance of what they are learning while also contributing to industry solutions in a meaningful way.
What do students think?
Students appreciate the opportunity to engage with real problems and collaborate on industry-based projects. They are not just learning about a theory- they are learning where and how they can apply it. This provides the students with a well-rounded understanding of what they are learning and how they can apply it.
What’s Next?
Amit continues to expand his partnership network through TMAC to bring even more high-impact, industry-connected experiences into his course curriculum. His plans include enhancing access to advanced manufacturing technologies and creating more opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration among engineering students.
