Faculty/Staff Wellness Ambassador
UTEP Wellness Ambassadors are health and wellness representatives from different departments throughout the university campus who collaborate with the UTEP Wellness Program to promote wellness ideas and initiatives to their respective departments. There is no fitness level, education level or position, required to become the Wellness Ambassador for a department, just a desire to incorporate healthy living into the work environment and among work colleagues. Promoting healthy lifestyles while at work, where we spend most of our time, benefits both UTEP and its employees. Together we provide our employees with opportunities to build a healthier future by giving them the tools, resources and most importantly the peer support necessary to help make healthy lifestyle choices.
The Wellness Program Manager and Dean at the College of Health Sciences are committed to continue to work collaboratively with UTEP department managers and ambassadors to promote health and wellness across the university. Over the past few years the Wellness Program has expanded its efforts to help create a culture of wellness at The University of Texas at El Paso. Employees have increased their health awareness, engaged in physical activity, monitored their eating habits, and adopted healthy behaviors. The program currently has over 60 Wellness Ambassadors.
