Dr. Wei-Ling Sun Receives Social Justice Teaching Award
EL PASO, Texas (February 28, 2024)
The University of Texas at El Paso College of Education (UTEP CoED) announces that Dr. Wei-Ling Sun, Assistant Professor from the Educational and Leadership Foundations department, has been selected for the 2024 American Educational Research Association (AERA) Leadership for Social Justice (LSJ) Social Justice Teaching Award. This national recognition celebrates her outstanding work in promoting social justice teaching within educational administration.
Dr. Sun will be honored at the AERA conference this April, where her dedication to fostering reconstructionist education will be acknowledged. The AERA Social Justice Teaching Award is a testament to Dr. Sun's commitment to preparing future leaders with essential skills to serve all students, particularly those in the border region.
Selected through a masked review process alongside nominees from universities across the nation, Dr. Sun's receipt of this award is the highest acknowledgment of her dedication to social justice teaching.
