Bob Malone, Chairman of Advisory Committee

Bob Malone is the Former Chairman and President of British Petroleum (BP) America. He was an Alfred P. Sloan Fellow at MIT and was selected as a Distinguished Alumni of the Year at UTEP. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of multiple companies including Halliburton, the second largest oil field service company in the world, and Peabody Energy Company, the world's largest publicly owned coal company.

Celena Arreola was part of the first graduating class of Engineering Leadership at UTEP. Now Celena is an Environmental Engineer at El Paso Electric where she is involved in the data management and environmental compliance for all generation sites across Texas and New Mexico in accordance with federal and state regulatory agencies.
John Balliew is President and CEO of El Paso Water Utilities, where he is responsible for all aspects of water, wastewater, storm water and reclaimed water management for the greater El Paso metropolitan area. He has accumulated experience throughout the years by working on projects like the 50-year water resource plan, construction of the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Desalination Plant, and implementation of a leak detection system that reduced unbilled water by 43 percent.

Antonio Casas was part of the first graduating class of Engineering Leadership at UTEP. Now Antonio is involved in multiple projects with the Institute of Translational Research at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. The research focuses on identifying precision medicine approaches to dealing with brain diseases like Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Dementia and others.

Daniel Dominguez is the President and CEO of Flutec LP, a Design and Build Company dedicated to the business of industrial HVAC systems integration. Daniel has accumulated 33 years of experience in designing and integrating mechanical systems. He presently leads the R&D team for new products related to chilled water and hot water packaged central plants with cogeneration systems integration.
Gerardo (Ardo) Fuentes
B.S. M.E. UTEP 1994; MBA from the University of Notre Dame
Gerardo Fuentes has experience in Automotive Engineering and is now working as a financial advisor with Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Dallas. He also worked previously in the field of investment banking in San Francisco and New York City, covering the Energy and Technology sectors as a bond analyst.

Hilda Galvan is now practicing as an intellectual property litigator and serving as managing partner of the Dallas office of Jones Day, an international law firm.
Eric Minelga is a senior engineering manager with The Boeing Company, where he has led a variety of teams in aircraft interior design, certification, and production. He has an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington and a M.B.A. from Seattle Pacific University. He also serves on the board of directors for LIMBS International and is an active dog trainer with Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Mike Paganini has over 20 years of music, engineering, and product development experience. He is currently working as Vice President of Engineering for Line 6, Inc.
Lawrence Pope is Executive Vice President of Administration and Chief Human Resources Officer for Halliburton, where he has global leadership responsibilities for Supply Chain, Information Technology, Human Resources, Real Estate Services, Corporate Aviation, Corporate Affairs and Security. He is a member of the Company's Executive Committee.

Joseph Sefair is a Principal Group Software Engineer Manager at Microsoft Corp. For the last seven years at Microsoft he has been working on developing data platforms as well as building and driven teams in Data and Analytics in different Microsoft Divisions such as Windows and Office. He also serves as a Chapter director for the HOLA Hispanic/Latin Resource group at Microsoft.
Alejandro (Alex) Valadez

Alejandro Valadez is Chief Engineer at Freeport McMoRAN El Paso Operations. Alejandro is responsible for the Project Management group, planning and overseeing project expansions, modifications and retrofits including identification and implementation of new technology. Alejandro holds a PE license in ME registered in the state of Arizona and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
