Dean New Member of the College of Fellows

The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) announced the election of Dr. Richard Schoephoerster, Dean of the College of Engineering, as a new member of the College of Fellows. Fellows are nominated and approved by current members of the College, consisting of over 900 scientists and engineers.
Recipients of this honor are recognized for their outstanding achievements in medical and biological engineering. A formal induction ceremony will be held during the Institute’s Annual Event in Washington, D.C. on February 21, 2008.
The College of Fellows leads the way in technological advancement, advocating for public policies facilitating progress in medical and biological research and development to benefit the public. Within academia, AIMBE Fellows are regularly recognized for their contributions in teaching, research, and innovation. Counting several Nobel Prize winners among them, their work also helps protect the environment, leads to new national security safeguards and contributes to a better, healthier society in many other ways.
