Intelligent Systems Engineering Laboratory (ISEL)
The Intelligent Systems Engineering Laboratory (ISEL) has been established through the Partners for the Advancement of Collaborative Engineering Education (PACE) program sponsored by GM, the National Science Foundation, and the U.S. Department of Education. The research focus of ISEL includes data analytics, Nondestructive Testing, and Evaluation (NDT/E) research, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality (AR/VR), Automated Quality Control, and 3D/4D area. The lab is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and equipment such as student's workstation with high computational facilities, AR/VR devices, NDT equipment, related to Virtual Reality, robot arm mover, crawler robot, and 3D/4D printers, as shown in the figure below. Currently, a large student group, including two Ph.D. students, 4 master's students, and other undergraduate students, are conducting several projects in the above-mentioned research area. The overarching goal of this laboratory is the educate and train the next-generation students with modern technologies in the file of industrial, manufacturing, and systems engineering and prepare them for the industries of the future.
