Competency - Observable and measurable skills and behaviors that contribute to workplace effectiveness. Some examples of competencies include relationship management, problem solving, and effective communications. If a manager needs additional assistance with adding and/or removing competencies, a video is available here.
Define Criteria - Managers or Employees will identify performance goals and objectives for the performance evaluation period.
Goal - Mutually agreed upon objectives for each employee to accomplish during the performance period.
Performance Review - The periodic and formal supervisory assessment of how well an employee has accomplished previously establish job-related tasks and objectives. The evaluation is often linked to salary review procedures.
Rating Definitions - ePerformance Rating Scale
- Does Not Meet Expectations - Overall contribution was consistently below the communicated expectations in performance and/or conduct.
- Does Not Meet Some Expectations - Overall contribution sometimes met the communicated expectations in performance and/or conduct. One or more responsibilities or competencies were not achieved.
- Meets Expectations - Overall contribution met the communicated expectations in performance and conduct.
- Exceeds Some Expectations - Overall contribution consistently met and often exceeded the communication expectations in performance and conduct.
- Exceeds Expectations - Overall contribution consistently exceeded the communication expectations in performance and conduct.
Second Level Supervisor - The evaluating Manager's supervisor. The second level supervisor must review the document for accuracy, and objectivity, and approve the evaluation before it is submitted to the employee.
Self-Evaluation - Employee's opportunity to evaluate their performance goals and objectives. A Self-Evaluation Guide can be found here.
