Local bands will have the opportunity to showcase their talent and compete for the title of “Best Band” at this year’s Minerpalooza! UTEP students, faculty, and staff will vote for their favorite bands online and the top three bands will play live at Texas Western Gold Rush on August 26. The top two finalists will perform at this year’s Minerpalooza on Friday, Sept. 6.

- July 22– 28: Video performance recording availability
- August 26: Texas Western Gold Rush live performance
- September 6: Minerpalooza live performance
The top five bands will receive a free live performance video with professionally recorded audio.
The winner of Battle of the Bands will earn one week of recording studio time and one week of editing, mixing, mastering, and publishing, valued at $5,000, at Genuine Reference Studios.
