Robert Wren

Robert Wren, Ph.D. is a native El Pasoan who began his association with UTEP selling sodas and peanuts during football games at Kidd field in the early 1960s. He obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at UTEP and, after receiving his doctorate in English Literature at the University of Texas at Austin, he returned to El Paso where he has been teaching in the Humanities Program since 1989. He teaches courses in ancient, medieval, and modern Western culture and has developed and taught courses in modern warfare, the history of Islam, and the literature and culture of equatorial Africa.
