Support For All UTEP Technology Services
We maintain a commitment to excellent service by focusing on delivering and supporting the effective integration of technology into the academic and administrative functions of our institution. We make all efforts to keep our technology services efficient and accessible to help support teaching and learning and the overall goals and mission of the university.
The Technology Support Help Desk is the single point of contact for students, faculty and staff with for any technology related question. We are committed to providing excellent support through a variety of methods including telephone, email, live chat and in person, and continuously exceeds all business standards in customer satisfaction.
We administer the Service Request system •
We help with 24/7 Blackboard support •
We support all UTEP User Accounts •
We aim to help UTEP faculty and students get the most out of Blackboard by helping achieve successful delivery and completion of courses. We pride ourselves on our customer support and work hard on developing courses with faculty and staff here at Blackboard Central. We are also responsible for all of Blackboard’s administrative functions.
• We create courses and user enrollments in Blackboard
• We assist and/or train on all Blackboard functionality and tools
• We coordinate all updates and upgrades for the Blackboard
• Our faculty lab is located in Library Room 300
Desktop Support is an extension of the services provided by the Technology Support Help Desk. With Dell and Apple Certified Technicians they provide the following services:
Provide first level support to all university classrooms which is our highest priority •
Remote and on-site hardware and software diagnostics •
Installs and repairs of university computers and associated peripherals •
Manage the Computer Clinic, which provides free tech support for personal computers •
The Desktop Management group focuses on unified endpoint management. The following services are all maintained and managed by this group:
• Maintenance of computers in Technology Support labs (see below)
• Windows and Apple computer management enterprise tools
• Volume licensing of specialized software
• Student Printing solution
• Application and desktop virtualization (My.Apps and App-V)
